About Us
Youth Arts New York is an emerging not-for-profit organization that began its work in 1987 as a program of the The City University of New York’s Gateway Institute for Pre-College Education which prepares minority and low-income New York City public high school students for college and careers in science, medicine, health, engineering, technology and teaching.
Youth Arts New York collaborates with artists and arts organizations to provide youth with intergenerational fine arts experiences that inspire them to be of service to a healthy and peaceful planet for present and future generations.
Youth Arts New York currently operates at Jamaica High School, Queens, where we serve 200 students annually. We presently sponsor after-school arts workshops, theater trips, field trips and tea ceremony.
